We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing people together to be champions for their rivers and streams and help make our water cleaner and our communities healthier.

We banded together. Picked up shovels. Rolled rocks. Planted trees. Together we’ve built coalitions. Passed state and federal laws to protect our rivers. We will build on our legacy of accomplishment and together we will inspire a larger, younger, and more diverse array of conservation advocates.
Our Territory is Central NY, but we focus mainly on Oneida and Herkimer County.
Also referred to as the foothills of the Adirondacks, our chapter focuses on the drainage basins of the Mohawk River, Black River, and West Canada Creek.
Now is the time to focus on kids and educating them on the importance of water and how water gets to us and where it goes, specifically in our region. Each year in the spring we go to local elementary schools and educate our kids on aquatic entomology and conservation in general.
Did you know that we have over 25 Trout in the Classroom programs happening in our chapter? It is rewarding work and we need more help to continue to grow the program. Please contact us if you are interested in helping our cause and adopting a classroom to support. For more general info on T.I.C. please check with TU National.
One of our new major programs is evaluating our local ecosystems and getting a baseline of their health. We do this by monitoring our local streams water quality each month and also periodically assessing the types of macroinvertebrates present,
