Advocates for cold water fisheries in the greater Mohawk Valley and Foothills of the Adirondacks

Our programs are based on a foundation of youth education. Our major projects for 2024-2026 are:
As we grow we need help, so please reach out to us and get involved. Join us in making a difference today.

We banded together. Picked up shovels. Rolled rocks. Planted trees. Together we’ve built coalitions. Passed state and federal laws to protect our rivers. We will build on our legacy of accomplishment and together we will inspire a larger, younger, and more diverse array of conservation advocates.
Our Territory is Central NY, but we focus mainly on Oneida and Herkimer County.
Also referred to as the foothills of the Adirondacks, our chapter focuses on the drainage basins of the Mohawk River, Black River, and West Canada Creek.
2025 is our time to focus on kids and educating them on the importance of water and how water gets to us and where it goes, specifically in our region. Each year in the spring we go to local elementary schools and educate our kids on aquatic entomology and conservation in general.
Did you know that we have over a dozen trout in the classroom programs happening in our chapter? We are! and it's hard work and we need help. Please contact us if you are interested in helping our cause and adopting a classroom to help us. For more general info on T.I.C. please check with TU National.
One of our major programs in 2024 and beyond is evaluating our local ecosystems and getting a baseline of their health. This is usually done by trying to catch wild fish and also assessing the water by looking at macroinvertebrates.
Want to help? Its easy.
Come to a meeting and get involved assessing one of the rivers or creeks that we need exploring. Who knew that science could be so cool and that fishing can be science? !
Please stay connected with us and follow us on our social media page on FACEBOOK.
Come to our Monthly Meetings the second Wednesday of the Month. 6:30 PM. Send us a message if you need directions.
